Coaches Training

Helping to make Detroit a great place to be a kid and raise a family...

Think Detroit PAL and the Institute for the Study of Youth Sports out of Michigan State University have developed a unique coach training program called IMPACT Coaching.  The mandatory training is designed to give coaches tools to fulfill the mission of building character in young people through sports.  Think Detroit PAL does not believe that sports alone build character, coaches do.

Think Detroit PAL Volunteer Training Requirement Checklist
All volunteers who have direct contact with children will be required to pass a background check and complete a new level of IMPACT training every year. In addition, head coaches must be CPR certified and all coaches on the sidelines during games must complete their league rules training. Due to the nature of the sport, assistant head coaches in contact football must also be CPR certified. Once these requirements are met, credentials will be issued to identify Think Detroit PAL volunteers.
