End of Season Wrap June 5-6- The first day of the state tournament in Grand Rapids, Mich. was FANTASTIC! TDP Elite went undefeated making it known from the very beginning that we were there to work hard and make a name for ourselves! The inaugural team from Detroit, Mich. did just that, earning the number one seed in the playoffs to follow the next day. Day two began with a slow start and tougher competition. We were facing a team that we had previously defeated the day before to determine which bracket we would play in for the day. We fought hard, but they ultimately fought harder, defeating us in two games. Although the girls were shocked and feeling slightly overwhelmed, this did not stop them from embracing the next game with fierce motivation and determination.
Day two seemed longer than the first and the girls struggled to find their rhythm. With numerous fans there to support the girls and cheer us on with a “Detroit Volleyball” chant, the day, tournament and season ultimately ended with TDP taking third place (in their first-ever state tournament)…not bad! Above and beyond anything, I am extremely proud of the girls for all their hard work, perseverance and determination. Our team motto is “PUSH”, “You can only go as far as you push”. I am elated to say that the girls are and forever will be winners as members of this inaugural season and for doing something that has NEVER been done and pushing themselves to be the best and compete with the best.

Although our girls were beginning to show signs of fatigue, they persevered and split the games giving them the fourth seed spot in the playoffs.
The first round of playoffs started with another game against Victors-Jen. The Victors came back with a vengeance and TDP Elite girls gave everything they had, winning the first game 25-23.The second game was just as close and exciting but The Victors won 25-23, forcing a third game.
